In addition to our regular poi curriculum, La Escuela Del Sol is committed to bringing you the best talent from around the world to teach fire dancing workshops.  This year will be the best yet.  We have a very special line up beginning January 22 and ending March 17, 2012.  With a different focus and instructor every 2 weeks, there will be something for everybody.  We encourage you to stay from 1 to 6 weeks to get the most out of this very special occasion.

January 22 - 28, 2012

Zan and Aurora Moore will host a 1 week workshop for all levels.  Zan is the creator of the Encyclo-poi-dia DVD series and the most watched fire poi video on the net!  This workshop will focus on an overall system of poi, guiding you through space and time within the framework of manipulation, technique and movement.  For an added bonus, the ground breaking couple will add some special classes for partner poi.  Participants may sign up for one week only.

February 5 - 18, 2012

Nick Woolsey and Rob Thorburn will host a 1 - 2 week workshop for those who can play with the basics already.  Nick is the creator of countless instructional videos on the web including The Scales of Poi as well as author of the popular website playpoi.com.  He continues to be an inspiration and innovator of the fire poi world.  Rob is a member of letscircus.com and 10 year performer and instructor of fire poi, staff and other props.  Participants may sign up for the first week only or for both weeks.

February 19 - Feb 25, 2012

Srikanta Barefoot will host a 1 week workshop for all levels of poi and/or staff.  Srikanta has been a fire dancing instructor for over 11 years including a stint as Fire Dance Coach and Lead Fire Dancer for Cirque du Soleil.  Naturally, his focus will be on technique along with the incorporation of body movement and dance.  Participants may sign up for poi, staff or both.

March 4 - 10, 2012

Nick will host another 1 week poi workshop, this time with assistant teacher Alien Jon.  This workshop will be for BEGINNERS ONLY.  Jon is a long time performer and teacher and known in the fire poi world as one of the most technically sound and innovative fire dancers in existence.  Jon is also co-creator of Zan Moore's Encyclo-poi-dia II video.  Participants may sign up for only one week.

March 11 - 17, 2012 - Vivation Flow Empowerment Superhero Retreat!

Nick and Alien Jon team up with Thom Thumb and Paul Hughes of Vivation International to bring you a unique event you won't find anywhere else.  Using poi as a tool to reach the flow state, this retreat's aim is to create true personal transformation and to build the skills necessary to manifest the flow state at will, thus increasing happiness! We will break through all inhibitions that have been holding us back in our lives. Why? Because the world needs more superheroes, and it needs them now!
